It's been too long since I posted! What in the world is going on?
A couple things. One, I started a new fabulous part time job, so I'm still getting used to my new schedule of going in to an actual office instead of working from home.
Two, I'm actually getting near the end of a three year saga of making my feature documentary film which is taking a lot of my time.
And three, I went to Vegas for a week! It was a ton of fun, and I plan on posting and reviewing as much as possible from everything we did there.
So tomorrow I'll be trying to get back into a regular schedule and re-evaluating my posting schedule. We'll get it figured out, stick with me! And especially you want to stick with me because I'm going to be posting something awesome just for my readers next week!
While I'm working on my schedule tomorrow, any suggestions? Things you want to see more or less of? How many posts you'd like to see in a week?

Winged Reviews!
Hello!
So, I'm thrilled to announce that I'm now working with my good friend Daphne as a full time reviewer at her website, Winged Reviews!
Winged Reviews is a blog focused on young adult fiction, which is one of my favorite genres. My first set of reviews is going to be of the Percy Jackson and the Olympians series by Rick Riordan. But you can read my intro post right now!
You might wonder what this means for this blog, and really the impact will be minimal. I've not been keeping to my schedule for the last few weeks because of a lot of stuff going on at home, but this month should mark a return to form:
Tuesdays: Opinion column
Wednesdays: Television review (either series or episodes, depending on what I'm watching at the time)
Thursdays: Movie review (classic films and new releases)
The only difference is I may not post a new book review every month like the previous schedule, I may direct you back to Winged Reviews for those or if I've read a book that doesn't fit there I might review it here. It'll be a bonus instead of a scheduled feature. That part I'm just going to play by ear until I find the right pattern.
But for now, you should be over at Winged Reviews checking it out!

State of the Blog!
You may have noticed that it's been about a month since I posted anything.
Long story short, I've had a bit of a personal medical issue, among a lot of other craziness and stress, and I let the blog go to the back burner for a little bit.
I'll be trying to fix that now! I may not go back and post extra stuff to make up for the lost days, but I'll post all the stuff for this week and a book review since I missed that one for the first part of this month too. I'll try to throw in some extra posts to make up for the missing month but I'm not going to be too methodical about it like I was last time, I'm just going to try to go back on schedule now.
Thanks for waiting!

State of the Blog
First off, I know I keep promising I'll update this more and not delivering. There's a reason for that this time, which is that I've been busy making my first feature length film. I've been shooting a documentary this year, and it's kept me very busy. But we're getting closer and closer to wrapping that up, so I'm going to try one more time to revitalize this and get it going.
Second, I know if I have any subscribers it's probably because of my Project Runway posts. I WILL be recapping All-Stars, but I am leaving the country to shoot more of my film for two weeks when it premieres. So those first few episodes will probably be delayed until I get back, unless somebody knows how I can watch in Seoul, South Korea.
NOW, what this post is actually about: one way I'm going to get back to blogging is to start writing shorter reviews. I've been reading a lot of reviews lately and I've realized that my favorites are very short and succinct. I love Roger Ebert's column even when I don't agree with him, and it's usually quite short. I've found that movie reviews that are longer bore me to tears and I'm a filmmaker.
So, shorter is better.
This blog was originally intended to be a review blog for movies, television, and books. I've expanded it a bit, because I used to write a weekly column for a newspaper and I enjoyed that. So here are my goals for 2011 on One Girl's Opinion (but starting in February when I'm in the US again):
-An opinion column roughly every other week
-A movie review every week (usually on old releases unless I actually get to a theatre).
-Once a week, a television episode review. Could be a current show or something old I'm rewatching. I may do reviews of an entire series or set of episodes, I'm winging that part.
-A book review once a month.
I'll probably set specific days of the week and dates for these after I see how the first month of this system shakes out.
As always, please subscribe to the RSS feed if you don't want to miss anything!

Changes on the horizon
Hello!
There are a few changes in store for One Girl's Opinion! For one thing, I'm going to be updating at least once per week, if not more often.
For another we're going to have a more clear statement of purpose over here. This is a review site, but not a typical one!
I'll be reviewing:
-movies
-television
-books
-restaurants
-concerts (when I have a chance to go to them)
-products
-anything else I feel like reviewing!
So expect some more talk about food and fashion on these pages, as well as more reviews and opinions! Please, if you stumble across this page, bookmark it and tell your friends!

Would you look at that? I do have an update blogger already set up for this site! I just need to plug it in.
Seven new images posted in the random image archive, and one ask/answer question answered. The pics are in entertainment, photos, random, and artwork. The categories are new too. Be sure to leave comments so I know what kind of pics people are looking for!
